English Armchairs.
An exquisite pair of George II burl walnut armchairs comprising back rail stamped with initial and arms terminating in eagles heads. Circa 1730.
Location: Maison Felice. Palm Desert, CA.
STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS:
1. Some elements unglued.
2. A later and none original piece of pine show signs of past damage by bugs.
PROBLEMS WITH THE ARMCHAIRS FINISH:
Armchairs are asperous and missing wax finish.
INTERVENTIONS:
1. Carving a new wood piece (walnut) in order to substitute the rotten piece.
2. Regluing of loose parts.
3. Cleaning the old finish.
4. Waxing of entire armchairs.
