A Fireplace Restoration.
Description: Art Noveau Style Fireplace.
Location: Restaurant “Las Casuelas”. Palm Springs.
Beginning stage:
1. Generalized dirt, increased by smoke from the chimney.
2. Stain and varnish are missing in several parts.
3. Several parts of the inlaid wood are missing.
Task:
1. Professional cleaning.
2. Replacement of missing pieces of inlaid wood.
3. Application of stain to cover imperfections and to match the new wood.
4. Varnishing.
5. Waxing.
The Restorer's Chamber. 
I understand how sensitive wood can be when exposed to elements such smoke, water, an environment of central heat and air, and decades of neglect. This is a beautiful restoration.

Thank you. The dirt caused by the smoke was so much that the wood incrustations could not be seen and some people thought I had put them there.
