Refinishing Desk.
Description: Oak Desk.
Location: Palm Desert, CA. Private Collection.
Beginning stage:
The entire desk has been varnished whit a red varnish that hides the natural wooden grain. The varnish is cracked in many parts and wrinkled in others.
Task:
1. Remove all the varnish with a scalpel to show the grain of the wood.
2. Application stain to cover imperfections without altering the natural color of the wood.
3. Sealing the wood.
4. Waxing.
5. Polishing of bronze hardware.
